Introduction - There are many different types of alternators and among them those with permanent magnets that are widely used also with regard to the production of energy through wind power plants built by ordinary people in their own homes .

These permanent magnet alternators have been for many years employed in systems with reduced power requirements from the power radar to that of common bicycle lights , and now they are discovered by lovers of alternative energy.

This particular type of alternator is characterized by the presence of permanent magnets which replace the poles excitation , used in the common synchronous alternators illustrated previously , thanks to which it is possible the transformation of mechanical energy into alternating current in the alternator through asynchronous .
